It is currently mango season in Tobago, so I’ve been taking advantage of these sweet, delicious fruits! Now something I didn’t know before I came to Tobago was the fact that there are hundreds of different varieties of mangos! Julie being the most popular variety here in Tobago, followed second by the larger Graham mangos.
My new favourites are Ice Cream mangos, which literally melt in your mouth and taste like mango sorbet. I cannot even believe how creamy and rich these taste.
Mangos are also extremely good for you. The fiber in mangos help with digestion, they contain enzymes for breaking down protein, they help alkalize the whole body, and boosts your immune system with their high amounts of vitamin C.
So naturally, with my new found love for mangos I decided to help spread the mango love! At the Adventure Farm & Eco Reserve they offer a Adopt-a-Tree and Plant-a-Tree service, so that’s what I did. Here is my newly planted Calabash mango tree!
